Definitions:
Hair-piece – a patch or bunch of false hair used to augment a person’s natural hair.
Wig – a covering for the head made of real hair (human hair or animal hair) or artificial fibres (synthetic fibre).
What kind of wig looks most natural?
For the most natural-looking wig, choose one made of human hair. There are two types of wigs: human hair and synthetic. As you might guess, human hair provides the most natural look. Because it’s real, it falls and swings the same way natural hair does.
Is it okay to wear a wig every day?
The short answer is it is ok to wear a wig everyday if you take proper care of your natural hair and scalp. This means regular shampooing of the scalp and hair. Your hair and skin cells will grow regardless of whether or not you cover them with a wig or accessories like hats and scarves.
Does wearing a wig prevent hair growth?
No, wearing a wig does not stop hair growth. However, if the hair underneath your wig isn’t properly protected or looked after, this can damage hair and impede growth.
Cost for a wig: $150– $500
