Natural Scalp Treatments

1. Shampoo
At the pharmacy, look for specific shampoos for psoriasis, especially ones that include coal tar or salicylic acid.These shampoos should give you relief from itching and removal of flakes. You may use this shampoo on a regular basis to control your psoriasis.

2. Limit some foods
Psoriasis is often caused by a bout of inflammation in the body. So avoid inflammatory foods by tweaking your diet. Limit red meat, dairy, and processed foods to improve symptoms.

3. Aloe vera
Aloe Vera moisturizes the skin and reduces redness, itchiness and flaking.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar
Use a 1:1 ratio of vinegar to water and delicately dab onto the scalp. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse with warm water. Don’t pick or scratch! It’ll only make the breakout worse. Apple Cider vinegar does wonders for your skin’s health!

5. Coconut Oil
Massage a teaspoon of coconut oil on your scalp then put on a shower cap. If you can keep the oil on overnight, great. If not, go for at least an hour. Coconut oil is cooling and nourishing for the scalp and hair.

6. Oatmeal Bath
Draw yourself a lukewarm bath and add a cup of ground colloidal oatmeal to the water. Soak for about 5 to 8 minutes with your scalp submerged and you may notice reduced itching and less redness.

7. Tumeric
Another noted anti-inflammatory and skin soother that can help treat psoriasis. There are lots of turmeric recipes to help your skin.
